Nahampoana, Christmas and Lokaro

J and his sister came to visit us for Christmas so we had a couple weeks of playing tour guide.  Unfortunately,  just about everyone took turns being sick at different points of the visit, but we were still able to do some fun excursions. 

I took them on a walking tour of the various shops in town, to Libonouna Beach and Fort Flacourt, which is a little historical museum. 

We went to Nahampoana Lemur  Reserve which is a great place. We got to see sifaka, ring-tailed and brown lemurs.  

We celebrated Christmas.

We took a boat to Lokaro,  one of the world's most pristine beaches, where we spent two nights in a quiet bungalow,  and got a chance to recharge away from civilization.  Our friends transported our supplies and  belongings and joined us for the first day. 

All in all,  I think it was a good trip for them.  Now, I have another week off before jumping into school planning,  and the kids are off until January 20. I'm excited to get back to work and put some good training time in with my co-workers.
